Kris Stableford, a white woman with brown hair and glasses, is announcing on the Main Stage at the Wheatland Music Festival, against a background of white pines. She is wearing a red sweatshirt and a multicolored skirt.

It all started with a dream.

During the summer of 2018, Kris Stableford dreamt one night of connecting the dynamic artists she loves with new audiences.  When she shared her dream with friends, a couple of musician pals replied, “I’d hire you!”  Since then, Kris has worked toward making her dream a reality and in December of 2018, the Stableford Agency was born.

Since the Stableford Agency’s inception, Kris Stableford has been seeking out great gigs for the talented musicians she represents.  The Stableford Agency’s roster ranges from energetic old-time bands to compelling singer/songwriters, and includes solo performers, duos, trios and quartets.  Acts represented by the Stableford Agency are well-received at venues as small as clubs and coffee shops, and as large as main stages at well-known music festivals.

Kris Stableford brings a varied musical background to the Stableford Agency.  She has been involved with the Wheatland Music Organization (wheatlandmusic.org) since the mid-1980s, and has helped to plan the prestigious Wheatland Music Festival since 2006.  In 2009, Kris and two co-directors established Earful of Fiddle Music & Dance Camp (www.earfuloffiddle.com).  This highly-regarded camp has brought world-class musicians and dancers to Mecosta County, Michigan to teach at Earful for over a decade.  Through her work on both the representation and hiring sides of music promotion, Kris Stableford brings a wealth of experience with diverse artists of many genres in a variety of performance contexts.
